Tobacco Supply and demand strategies used in African countries

This paper sought to explore how main tobacco companies operate in their attempt to increase the supply and demand of tobacco in the African context. The commonly reported strategies used by these companies include the overestimation of illicit tobacco trade and smuggling, sales of individual cigarette sticks, and promotional tactics. This paper concludes that advocacy efforts should focus on the enforcement and implementation of strategies targeting the discussed industry tactics.
